Using Anger To Fuel Your Ambition

Being human we are always filled with emotion and while some see it as a weakness, emotions can be very powerful if you know how to use it well. One of the emotion associated to negativity is anger. However, do you know that you can learn to harness anger and change it into grit and motivation to fuel your ambition?

What do you think of when you’re angry? Usually you are mad at people or the world and you will have a strong feeling of wanting to prove them wrong. Use that feeling to motivate you. For example, you are angry because you didn’t get the job you wanted despite spending your time studying the company, use that to motivate yourself to work harder and prove them that you deserve better.

Anger, when expressed the right way can result in good changes. According to research conducted by Henry Evans and Colm Foster, emotional intelligence experts and authors of Step Up: Lead in Six Moments That Matter, anger is actually useful when harnessed and controlled because it fosters two useful behavioural capabilities that is focus and confidence. So next time you get angry, use it to fuel your ambition instead of lashing out.
