Self-Esteem; Accept yourself to harness true inner strength
On a scale from one to 10 with 10 being the best, how much do you like
yourself? Remember the first number that pops into your head and read on. Your
self-esteem is at the core of your attitudes and responses to everything in
your life. It drives your confidence when facing challenges, and allows you to face
negative comments or attacks from others, and not let them bring you down or
affect you.
So what about you? How much do you like yourself? To have healthy
self-esteem and a positive self-image, you first need to analyse yourself from
three key areas. Firstly you should identify your strengths and the areas or
skills you are good at. Secondly take an honest look at your weaknesses so that
you know which areas or situations you should try to minimize to achieve
success. Lastly, take stock of your different pursuits in life, and narrow them
down to the things you love to do. Once you have
examined these three key areas in your life, make a decision to like who you
are and go about doing those things that make you believe it. All
self-improvement efforts are an “inside job.” YOU are the one who must approve
of the person you are, flaws and all.
