How to Keep Calm in Times of Adversity

Keeping our calm and composure in times of adversity is very useful as it helps us make better informed decisions to our problems as opposed to clouding our thoughts with worry and fear. Whenever we find ourselves in a state of worry or fear, we must know how to bring ourselves back in a state of calm so we are able to gain a better perspective of the issue at hand.

One of the most helpful tips to staying calm is to redirect our focus on proper breathing. Sit up straight, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths and allow yourself to hear your own breathing. Do this a couple of minutes and you should already find yourself a lot more composed and centered.  Another helpful tip is to make yourself a cup of tea. Studies have shown that a single cup of tea can significantly help reduce anxiety levels and make people calmer than they were before.
