How to Write A Formal Letter


If you work in the professional industry you will more than likely have to write a formal letter. A formal letter can be used as a form of invitation, job offer or even to inform a person or an organisation of an important matter.

Before you start writing a letter, identify the person you are sending it too. Make sure that you have their title correct. Secondly, identify the main purpose of your letter as it will be your subject. The first paragraph of your letter needs to answer all the main question of who, what, where and when. You can choose to elaborate in the second paragraph but make sure you do not exceed one page.
