It is important to pay close attention to minor details because sometimes small mistakes can lead to major issues.

To practice paying attention to details, make sure you always proof read and double check your work before you hand it in. If you can, ask a colleague or a friend to check it for you. Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can be useful in detecting mistakes. Before you submit, make sure you check it one last time and if it helps, do a checklist of the information you should have and tick the boxes.
