Being aware of your body language

In order for you to effectively communicate, you not only have to focus on the way you talk or the way you listen, but you also have to focus on your body language. Whether you realise it or not, your body language says a lot about how you are feeling.
For example, when you lean in during a conversation, it shows you are interested and if you lean back, you may send the message that you are not as interested. On the other hand, folding your arms in front of your chest makes you less approachable.
When you are in an interview for example, make sure you sit up straight as it will help you appear more confident than if you slouch. Next time when you are networking or at an event, be more aware of your body language as you are subconsciously sending a message to your surrounding.
