Using Criticism To Help You Improve

Nobody likes being criticised but do you know that criticism can actually be used as a tool to help you be better? Usually when someone criticises you, it is because you have done something wrong or the way you do things do not resonate with them.

When facing criticism, the first thing you should do is to not take it personally. Unless someone is using harsh languages and is personally attacking you, then it is best to remember criticism is there to remind you on what you can do better. So instead, use it as an assessment.

For example, if your superior says your report is not good enough, analyse what you did wrong and how you can make it better. Then, you can work on improving your weakness. You can either read more or ask for help before improving your report. That way, not only did you do a better job, you also now possess a new set of skills.
