Developing An Attitude Of Gratitude

The word gratitude originated from the Latin word gratus, which means ‘pleasing’ or ‘thankful’. Gratitude is an act of showing appreciation and to return kindness. What it means by developing an attitude of gratitude is that you practise being thankful even for the smallest things.
Start when you wake up in the morning. Every time you wake up, think of three things you are thankful for. It can be the fact that you are still breathing, you have a job that puts food on the table and that you have a roof to sleep under. Before you go to bed, think of three more things you are thankful for. Maybe you had a good meal at work or your bus arrived 10 minutes earlier.
When you start being thankful for the little things, you will worry a lot less. This will leave you more space to work on more productive things like improving your life skills or reconnecting with your family. By showing appreciation as well, you are letting more positive things to come your way.
