While there are many qualities that can
contribute to a person’s success and happiness, if it isn’t without
self-disciplines, then the achievements could hardly be sustainable in the

The conclusion came about as the study showed that self-disciplined subjects
were more adept at dealing with goal conflicts. The subjects were able to make
positive decisions more easily and spent less time indulging in behaviours
damaging to their health. Self-controlled and self-disciplined subjects were
more prone to making rational and informed decisions on a daily basis and did
not allow their choices to be dictated by impulses or feelings. Self-discipline should be taught from an
early age as it is a learned behaviour. It requires repetition and practice in
our day to day life.
