Key To Success: Resilience

Success doesn’t come easy, and if you ask anyone who is successful, they will tell you how many times they have failed. Everyone is given the same opportunity and everyone has tasted failure at least once in their life, but why are some people more successful than others?
The key here is resilience. Resilience is your ability to stand back up after you have been knocked down. The more resistant you are from failure, the closer you are to being successful. People who are resilient doesn’t see failure as a reason to stop, they see it as a reason to try harder and as a lesson to learn from.
Thomas Edison failed 1000 times before he successfully created the light bulb. When asked what it was like to fail that many times, his response was, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.” When you are faced with failure, take a step back. Breathe, identify what you did wrong and start again with an improved move. Slowly but surely, you will figure out a way that works best.
